Malone, Robert (Bob) Edward
1940 – 2016
Bob Malone of Riverview passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in London, ON, he was the son of the late Charles J. and Hazel Malone (Dean).
Bob moved from Ontario in 1969 to be the Manager of The Moncton Chambers of Commerce. He was passionate about sports having been involved with the Midget Flyers and The Monctonian AAA Challenge as well as Riverview Minor Hockey and Football and having ownership of hockeyscene.com. He was a member and Former president of the Riverview Lions Club. He and his wife, Liz, were also the founders of Riverview This Week.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Elizabeth “Liz” (Crook); sons, Sean (Jonna) of Nine Mile Creek, PE, Todd of Nunavut; grandchildren, Brittany, Sabastian, Miles, Owen and Gabriel; sister, Doreen Mantz of London, ON; brother, Jack (Hazil) of London, ON; sisters-in-law, Doris Robbins (George), Elsie Lunn; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a brother, Bill.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd. Riverview (869-2007) on Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00pm. A funeral service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Sunday, February 7, 2016 at 1:30pm with Rev. Gordon Horsman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
