Mary Anne E. Albert
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Albert (nee Quigley), a long time resident of Saint John N.B., in Ottawa on February 5, 2016. She was born on August 15, 1927 in Grand Falls N.B. to the late Catherine (Houlahan) and Arthur Quigley. Her husband Murray Albert and sisters Mildred, Zita, Loretta, Dorothy, and Betty predeceased Mary.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her children Theresa Hill (Alex), John Albert (Linda Mazerolle), Sharon Lee Robertson (Gordie), Annette Naidoo (Kumaren), grandchildren Nicholas, Kate, Anthony (Tamara Yee), Catherine, Dakotah and Nicole, great grandson Silas, sisters Lilly Bryson and Carol Ann (Gil Lebel), as well as nieces, nephews, and friends throughout New Brunswick and Ontario.
Mary enjoyed a challenging but rewarding nursing career at the Saint John General and Saint John Regional Hospitals. She claimed that she could never cook and that is why she married a chef. She liked to keep herself busy by completing puzzles, knitting and reading. Mary was always willing to travel and enjoyed visiting family. She was especially fond of animals and throughout her life she provided loving care to several very fortunate dogs and cats.
The funeral service will be held at St. Puis X Church in Saint John at a later date with interment at St Joseph’s Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elizabeth Bruyere Foundation at bruyere.org or Saint John SPCA at spcaanimalrescue.com.
