Passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family on February 23, 2016, Harry Joseph Chafe, age 82 years of Petty Harbour. Predeceased by his parents John and Hannah Chafe; sisters Lucille, Elizabeth and Marie, brothers Benedict, Francis (Sylvia) and John Chafe and members of the White family. Harry leaves with much love his wife of 57 years Barbara, daughters Lucille (Wayne), Lisa (Dave), Paula (Michael), Barbie (Woody), sons Craig (Daphne), Gerard (Deborah) and John (Serena). Eight precious grandchildren: Justin and Holly Lee, Tyler Chafe, Matthew Doody, Kelsea and Konrad Madden, Alex Randell and Abigail Hannah Chafe.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his sister Jennie O'Neill (Don - deceased); brothers Frederick (Marie) and Ted; and sister-in-law Marie Chafe. Also leaving a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit, Leonard A. Miller Centre, for their kindness and compassion during his brief illness. Resting at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Church, Petty Harbour. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church, Petty Harbour.
