Passed peacefully away on February 24, 2016, Edmund Patrick Lahey, age 97 years of Trinity, Trinity Bay. Predeceased by his parents Captain Anthony Lahey and Anne Lahey (nee Hoskins); sisters Margaret (Peg), Madeline and Joan and brother Raymond. Edmund leaves with much love his wife of 62 years Loretta, daughters Joan (Greg), Anne and Patricia and sons Edmund (Sharon) and Gerard (Bonnie). Nine precious grandchildren: Matthew Cole, Madeline Cole, Sylvia Cole, Patrick Ho, Colin Ho, Melissa Lahey, Clare Lahey, Kathleen Lahey, Matthew Lahey and one great grandchild: Blaire Cole. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his nieces Anne and Ellen St. Croix of St. John's. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs Pavilion in St. John's for the kind and compassionate care he received over the last 5 years of his life. Resting at Cauls Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist in St. John's. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in St. John's. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
