Jeannette Phillips
PHILLIPS, JEANNETTE MARIE
Jeannette M. Phillips of Southampton, NB passed away February 29, 2016 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. She was born at Woodstock, NB in 1940, the daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie (Smullin) Gibson.
Jeannette was a lifelong member of the Women’s Institute and the PC Party. She was a director of the Southampton Hall and a member of the Middle Southampton Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending the Slammers Hockey Games, running the Crib League at the Southampton Hall, playing board games and putting puzzles together.
Her family was most important to her, preparing meals for them and spending time with them. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and participating in her community.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Reginald Phillips; a daughter, Ann Drost (Bernard), Fredericton, NB; a son Terry Phillips (Claudia), Woodstock, NB; five grandchildren, Ryan Drost (Jenny), Fredericton, NB, Ashley Kingston (Ryan), Fredericton, NB, Lisa Drost (Greg), Dartmouth, NS, Natasha Phillips (Connor), Woodstock, NB and Vanessa Phillips (Ben), Woodstock, NB; three great grandchildren, Maddison and Zachary Drost and Jacob Kingston; a sister-in-law, Donna Gibson, Woodstock, NB; two brothers-in-law, Everett Phillips, Southampton, NB and Darrell Phillips, Woodstock, NB; a special friend, Linda Grant, Woodstock, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Paul Gibson; a granddaughter, Angel Phillips; a sister-in-law, Ruby McBeth and brothers-in-law, Jim Phillips and Billy Phillips.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tom Williamson and Rev. Bob Johnson officiating. Interment will be later at Lenentine Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Jeannette, the family has suggested the Lenentine Cemetery, Middle Southampton Community Hall or the Middle Southampton Baptist Church.
