Crawford, Robert and Isobel
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Captain Robert and Isobel (Maxwell) Crawford on March 9 and 10, 2016 in Fredericton. Born in 1927 in Northern Ireland they were married in 1950. Robert was a master mariner with the Headline Shipping Company until they immigrated to Canada with their two children in 1963. They continued careers in the shipping and travel industries while living in Dalhousie and Saint John, NB. They moved to Fredericton to be nearer to family in 2008.
They will be sadly missed by their son Robert (Sally) of Mactaquac; daughter Hilary Osborne (Bryan) of Ottawa; grandchildren Matthew (Alisha), David and Timothy Crawford; Mikael (Andrea) and Peter (Alex) Osborne; great grandchildren Angela and Bradley; Isobel’s sister Joyce Pringle and several nieces and nephews in Canada and Northern Ireland.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 14 at 2:00 pm in the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel, 160 York Street, Fredericton. Rev. Greg Geldart will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family prior to the service and at the reception following.
The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to the caring staff at Parkland Fredericton, Extra-Mural Nursing, Bayshore Home Health and staff on DECH 4SE.
For those who wish, donations in Robert and Isobel’s memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online remembrances may be left at www.mcadamsfh.com.
It is fitting that following 66 happy years of marriage they left this life together.
