McKee, Lenore Ruth of Digby, passed away at home on March 9th, 2016 at the age of 90. Lenore was the fifth daughter of François and Margaret Perret, who would become Depression era homesteaders near Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. In her early adult life, Lenore taught school, eventually relocating to Fort Nelson, B.C. where she met and married Victor McKee, the local Hudson Bay Company Manager and Fur Trader. The family grew to four children before Victor changed careers and they settled in Winnipeg. In her later years Lenore moved to Kelowna B.C. and later to Digby, N.S. where she was cared for by her son, Stephen, until her passing. She is survived by daughters, Margaret (Bill), Heather; sons, Patrick (Joyce), Stephen; grandchildren, Kezia (Chad), Mila (Kevin), Jordan, Victor; great-grandchildren, Madelyn , Kalum. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lenore was predeceased by her husband, Victor; and her siblings, Gladys, Irene, Rose, Roland, Marie and James.
