WATHEN, DARCIA C.
Our beloved Darcia passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2016 at Gilchrist Hospice Care in Towson, MD, after a long and courageous battle with COPD, surrounded by her two sisters and brother-in-law.
Daughter of the late Duncan McKenzie Wathen and Doris Elizabeth Wathen, Darcia is survived by her sisters Diane Wathen and Dale Grossen (Kurt Grossen), brother David Wathen, sister-in-law Flo Wathen, long-time friend Tony Karpus and extended family in Alberta and Ontario.
Our thanks go to the caregivers at Gilchrist Hospice who provided loving care and much comfort during a difficult period for the family.
Born in 1949 in Saint John, New Brunswick and after growing up in Saint John and Bradenton, Florida, Darcia ultimately settled in Baltimore in the l980's. Darcia, a competent Legal Secretary for many years, worked for several law firms in the Baltimore area and ultimately for the City of Baltimore.
Cremated in Baltimore, funeral services with be held on March 31st, 2016 at 10:30pm at the Wathen Family Grave at Fernhill Cemetery in Darcia's birth place of Saint John.
