Peacefully at the Garden Home on Saturday, March 26, 2016, with her family by her side, Mary passed away, she went to join the love of her life of 67 years, Allan J. MacDonald, of Rice Point. Mary (nee MacKinnon), age 88 years, is the loving mother of Norma MacDonald of Rice Point, Charles (Shelly) of Rice Point, Linda Furjan of Clyde River, John (Tina) of Charlottetown, Erma MacDonald of Hampton, Denise Irving of Nanaimo, B.C., Paul (Kim) of Canoe Cove, and Mark (Jody) of Rice Point. Loving grandmother of Peter (Alison) MacDonald, Natalia Furjan-Collins (Ryan), Daniele Furjan-MacLean (Matt), Angela and Sarah MacDonald, Allan MacNeil, Austin, Malcolm, Liam and Bella MacDonald, Sophie and Adam MacDonald. Mary is also lovingly remembered by 5 great-grandchildren; her brother Charles MacKinnon and her sister-in-law, Mary Richards of Lower Sackville, N.S.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mary Belle (nee Gerrard) MacKinnon; her brother, Archie; infant brothers, Hector and Neil and her niece, Susan Kelly.
The funeral service will be held at Canoe Cove Presbyterian Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. Visiting hours on Wednesday 5-8 p.m.
