CLAYTON LILLINGTON
September 3, 1922- March 23, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Clayton Lillington announce his passing on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 93 years. Born in Isle-aux-Morts, he was the son of the late Nelson and Susanna (Knott) Lillington. Clayton was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children, Ruth (Hickman) Organ, Isle aux Morts, Rosalie (George) Best, North Sydney, NS, Russell (Blanche) Lillington, Susanna (Rodney) Wells and Herman Lillington, daughter-in-law’s, Christina Lillington and Vera Lillington, all of Isle-aux-Morts, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, companion, Elsie LeFrense, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Lillington, sons, Clayton Lillington Jr and Richard Lillington, brother, Abbott Lillington, sisters, Una Oliver-Hart, Elizabeth LeFrense, Rachel Harvey, Maryann Coleman, Dorothy MacDonald and Ruth Lillington. Friends visited the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts on Thursday, March 24 and Friday, March 25, between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where the Funeral Service was held on Saturday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev Maryrose Colbourne. Interment followed at Hillside Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clayton’s memory may be made to the Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle-aux-Morts.
