The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, March 28, 2016 of John Baptist MacDonald, Pleasant Grove, formerly of Grand Tracadie, age 93 years.
He was the last surviving member of the family of William Alfred and Mary Margaret (Campbell) MacDonald. He is survived by his wife, Ursula (nee Morrissey); two daughters, Cheryl and Margaret; two sons, Michael (Deborah) and Charles (Angela); six grandsons, four granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth "Betty" MacDonald, Katherine "Kay" MacDonald, Pauline McCabe, Lorraine Morrison (Kenneth) and Leona Morrissey.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, William, Fr. P.F., Eugene and Leonard; sisters, Eileen MacDonald and Margaret Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Harold Mitchell, Walter, Orwell, Myron and Cyril Morrissey; Lewis McCabe and Allison Stewart; sisters-in-law, Sr. Florence Morrissey CND, Sr. Claire Morrissey CND; Zita Stewart, Teresa MacDonald, Cecelia, Ruby and Eileen Morrissey.
Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Monday at 9:45 then to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment later in St. Michael's Church Cemetery, Corran Ban. Visitation Sunday 2-4 at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Pius X Parish or St. Vincent de Paul Society, Church of the Most Holy Redeemer.
