WILFRED ANDERSON
July 10, 1932- March 29, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wilfred Anderson announce his passing on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 with his loving family by his side at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port Aux Basques at the age of 83 years. Born in Port-aux-Basques, he was the son of the late Thomas and Georgina (Musseau) Anderson. Wilfred was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories his devoted sons, Calvin (Donna), Sydney Mines, Frazer (Stella), St. John’s and Wade (Tanya), Paradise, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, friends and a very special niece, Audrey Lomond. He was predeceased by his wife, Naomi Anderson, brothers, Israel, Samuel, and Max, and sisters, Sophie Anderson and Alice Bickel. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques on Wednesday, March 30 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March 31 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place on Friday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Clayton Billard officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Anglican Church or to St. James Anglican Cemetery Fund.
