Passed away at home in Goodyear, Arizona. He was born on June 24, 1969 in St. John's, NL, Canada, the son of James (Sr.) and Ruth (Sheppard) Grouchey. Jimmy is survived by his parents, his sister Christina Dewar (Kelly); his brother David (Michelle), and his sister Jennifer; as well as his adoring nephews Benjamin, Charlie, and Maxum. Jimmy received his Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University of Newfoundland, after which time he moved to the United States. While residing in Louisiana he completed his Masters Degree at the University of New Orleans and held positions teaching Sociology and in statistical analysis. In 2009, Jimmy took on another challenge and completed both the Associate in Science (Health) Degree from Mount Olive College and Diploma in Nursing from the Watts School in North Carolina. Upon graduation he held nursing positions in both NC and AZ. Jimmy was a loving free spirit. He had a passion for music, especially live concerts, and enjoyed an extensive history of live sports and music events. His personality was larger than life matched only by his beautiful smile, booming laugh, and loving heart. Most of all, the time Jimmy spent with his immediate family, uncles, aunts, cousins, and countless friends brought the greatest joy to his life. He truly was a rare and special gift to our world, and will be profoundly missed.
