79, passed on to be with Jesus Saturday, March 26, 2016. Owen was born in Goulds, Newfoundland, the son of the late Rita and Ernest Williams. While Owen always remained a devoted Newfie and loved his family and homeland greatly, he chose to come to the United States at age 18 where he met the love of his life, Rebecca Hendrix of Lexington. Owen faithfully served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He fulfilled his dream of owning his own business, Owen Williams Heating and Air Conditioning, which he operated for 30 years and served as a member of the HVAC Association. Owen was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church until he became a founding member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Owen was a member of the Scottish Rite and Cayce Masonic Lodge where he served as Chaplain. He was a member of Jamil Shrine Temple where he previously served in the Hillbilly Unit. Owen is survived by his wife of 55 years, Rebecca; daughters LedaAnn (Marvin) Newman, Melanie (George) Ronan and Rebecca (Jason) Smith. One of Owen's greatest joys was his eight grandsons Jake and Josh Newman, Cass, Liam, and Evan Ronan, Jay, Hendrix, and Cole Smith. He is also survived by his sister Audrey Williams and brother Hector Williams of Goulds, Newfoundland. Owen loved traveling home to Newfoundland, listening to Newfoundland music, reading The Downhomer from Newfoundland, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers! He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was greatly loved by his family and will be immeasurably missed.
