Bathurst, NB - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of Gilles Lavigne, 59, of Bathurst which occurred on April 1 2016 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Robertville he was the son of late Emery and late Valerie (Frenette) Lavigne.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lynn (White) Lavigne of Bathurst. A sister Jacqueline (Mairaj) Imam of Mississauga Ontario, his mother and father in law Roman and Marjorie White of Bathurst, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Carl (Christine) White, Kevin (Nicole) White, Colleen White. A special godchild Eric White. Nieces and nephews, Abid and Noor Imam, Mellissa McDonald, Micheline, Pierre, Nathalie, Kristina and Cynthia White. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gilles worked for Superior propane in Moncton.
The family wishes to extend healthful gratitude and thanks to Dr Nathalie Cauchon, the staff at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Chaleur General Hospital, the palliative care unit and the nurses from the Extra-Mural Program.
There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday evening April 4, 2016 at 6 p.m. from Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila Church, Robertville. Donations in memory of Gilles may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a favourite charity. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home (www.mfheritage.com), Beresford.
