ROBERT ALLAN "BAP" BAPTISTE

ROBERT ALLAN "BAP" BAPTISTE

September 24, 1945 ~ March 17, 2016
Bap passed on March 17, 2016 at Shishalh Hospital after a long battle of different illnesses. Born September 24, 1945. Survived by his wife of 47 years Shirley; his daughter Rochelle (Richard) and sons Byron (Gayle) and Toby (Colette); his sisters Anne Quinn and Rosemarie Clark (Vincent) and brother Richard; granddaughters Sage Porter, Mika Booth, Marlaina Baptiste and Callie Baptiste and grandson Tyler Booth; adopted grandchildren Dane and Grace Porter; daughter-in-law Kelsey Farquharson; and many, many nephews, nieces, in-laws and cousins.
Bap lived his life to the fullest and loved to participate in all types of sports and activities. He was very involved in his soccer team, the Sechelt Chiefs, the Breeds baseball team, the Warriors baseball team, the Sunshine Coast dart league, and the Rod and Gun Club, and was always on a team in any golf tournament that happened on the Coast.
Dad was known for his joke telling and his many, many quips and quotes that he had for everyone. He would always go to places and greet everyone with a hello or a hi, even if they were complete strangers. He was a true gentlemen and loved all people.
Bap, as an avid hunter, can be credited with teaching safety and sustainability with many of his family members. He was taught at a very young age the respect and honour of the outdoors. His boys will continue on with his teachings as it became their passion as well.
Family and friends had his service on March 22, 2016.
There is a huge void in our lives, but we know that he is in the happy hunting grounds now teaching his son Tyler, who left us 38 years ago.
He is forever loved and will be forever missed.
Special acknowledgement to Dr. Jane Bishop for taking such good care of our dad and husband. Thank you, Dr. Bishop … you are truly a treasure.
To the Shishalh Hospital staff, both of the emergency room and the second floor ward, and the critical care unit, we hold our hands up to you all for the incredible work you do! We are truly appreciative and thank you for your work with our dad, Bobby!
To the shishalh Nation one and all, thank you for holding us up. Words do not express our gratitude and love we have for you all!
