GERALDINE KEEPING
September 5, 1941 – April 4, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Geraldine Keeping (nee Herritt) announces her sudden passing on Monday April 4 at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 74 years. Born at Burnt Islands, Geraldine was the daughter of the late John and Rhoda Herritt. She was also predeceased by her sons; Terrance, Hughie, Gordie, sister Hannah Jane Morrie (Cecil), mother and father in law Lillian and John Keeping, son in law Percy Thorne, brothers in law; Roy Priddle, Ralph Keeping, James Keeping, Angus Keeping, sister in law Juanita Skinner. She leaves to mourn with many fond and loving memories her devoted husband Hughie of 57 years. A proud mother, mother in law and grandmother she will also be sadly missed by her children; Bernadine Thorne, Cathy (Cecil) Thorne, Shawn Keeping (Gilda Keeping), Anderine (Henry) Courtney, Jabez (Meta) Keeping, Lori-Ann Keeping (Eddie Lawrence), daughter in law Yvonne Keeping all of Burnt Islands. 6 grandchildren; Sarah, Glenda, Audrianna, Nicholas, Cruz, Kelsey, Savannah, Corey, 6 great grandchildren; Calum, Makenna, Cohen, Maddox, Lauren, Sawyer, brother Jabez (Frances) Herritt Burnt Islands. Sisters and brothers in law; Selena Priddle Isle aux Morts, Fred Keeping (Elsie) Port aux Basques, George (Cynthia) Keeping Brigus NL, Ruth Keeping, Ethel Keeping both of Burnt Islands, Donald Skinner Isle aux Morts and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation took place on Tuesday evening, Wednesday and Thursday at St. George's Anglican Church in Burnt Islands, from where the funeral service took place on Friday April 8, 2 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Petten, interment will follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted, donations can be made to the family.
