Passed peacefully away at her residence, surrounded by her loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, April 15, 2016, Jacqueline Cumby, age 73 years. A gentle soul, Jackie was very giving. She embraced life and encircled her many friends and her family with love, with kindness and with laughter. Jackie's appreciation and passion for art and her creative flair, were reflected in her many paintings, in her quilts, as well as in her garden. Special thank you to our family nurses Annette and Renee for their much appreciated care and attention. Predeceased by her parents John and Ruth Parsons; her sister Ada MacInnis; and brother-in-law Philip Edstrom. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, her siblings: Doretta (Albert) Samms, Leona Edstrom, Wilfred (Bernice) Parsons, Catherine (Larry) Pittman, Suzanne Parsons; brother-in-law Ron MacInnis; nieces and nephews: Glen and Wayne, Gary, Michelle and Renee, Cathy and Jim, John and Karen, Brian and Keith, Dawn and Graham; along with many grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and a large circle of friends. Visitation will take place from Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Avenue, Mount Pearl, on Monday, April 18, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Barrett's Chapel on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 10:30 am. Inurnment will take place in Codroy at a later date.
