BEYER, ALLAN JOHN
It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of John Allan Beyer. He passed away at York Care Manor on Sunday, April 17th, 2016. Born in Richmond, ON he was the son of the late Beatrice and Carl Beyer.
John was a man of many talents. He and Susan had Morgan horses and ran a riding school and also raised shelties. After retirement from the military John attended NSAC where he took a farrier courses and shoed horses as a hobby. He was an avid woodcarver, fiddler, and quilter. He also was a member of the “Fly Guys” an antique engine club and they traveled the countryside to local fairs. As an early riser all his life there was not many sunrises that John did not see. He often would quote “To many things to accomplish no time to sit around” and he certainly accomplished a lot in his short 88 years. During the last two years John spent many days at the York Manor making Susan’s life comfortable with outings or simply spending time at her side. He will be missed by family and friends. A heartfelt Thank you to the staff at York Care Center for the amazing care shown to John this past year.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan of 67 years; one son Andrew (Mary) Beyer of Ottawa, ON; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Tammy Beyer; brothers, Jim and Bob Beyer; sisters, Joan and Anne as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his parents; sons, Stephen and Michael; his siblings, Eddie, Arthur, Desmond, Isabell Brownlree, and Veronica Lafrenier
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held in the J. A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 20th, 2016 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Normand McDonald will officiate. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
