It is with great sadness the family of the late Mary Rita Wheeler announce her passing at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her five daughters: Loretta (Lester), Christina (Cecil), Brenda (Jim), Jacqueline (Joe) and Patricia; five sons: Tony (Genevieve), Michael (Margie), Fred, Phonse (Phyllis) and Glenn (Angie); son by choice Mark Vardy; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law Barbara Gallant, as well as a large circle of family and friends. A special thank you to 3D WMRH nursing staff and 4 South nursing staff at Corner Brook Long Term Care Home. She was predeceased by her husband Leo Wheeler "Fluffy"; parents Michael and Sarah Gallant; sisters: Isabella (John) Wade and Marjorie (Wilburn) Hann and Theresa Gallant; brothers: Cyril (Melvina) Gallant, Howard and Fred. Friends may visit Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish, Benoit's Cove, officiated by Father Don Leonard. Internment will take place at the Church Cemetery, Benoit's Cove. As expressions of Sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish.
