Passed peacefully away at Pleasant View Towers on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Thomas Sparkes age 84 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Mary (nee Jerrett) and his son Tommy. Leaving to mourn his daughters: Claire (John) her children: Andrew (Amy) and Mark Hillyard; Ruth (Richard) her step daughter Alana Rowe and Carol (Don); his sister Annie Coddington and brother Reg Sparkes. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of family and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave., Mt. Pearl on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 and Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 -9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Wesley United Church. Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Trinity United Cemetery, Shearstown. As expressions of sympathy donations can be made in Thomas' memory to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation.
