Bowie, Robert Joseph – 57, Lower Harmony, passed away unexpectedly on May 8, 2016 at his home. Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Gerald and Mercedes (Tremblay) Bowie. Robert had many hobbies especially working with his hands in making furniture, working on cars, fishing and hunting. He especially enjoyed helping others and spending time with his family and pets. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Colburn); son, Jason (Jennifer), Salmon River; brother, Daniel, East Tracadie; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by granddaughter, Kaitlin. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will begin with visitation on Saturday, May 14, from 1 pm until time of the service at 2 pm, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Rev. Iain Macdonald officiating. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
