Corner Brook, N.L., 1905 - 2008. Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook, Bridget Hakansson at the age of 102 years. Predeceased by her husband, Henrik and son-in-law: Robert Thorne. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter, Marie Thorne; five grandchildren: Robert (Debbie), New Glasgow, N.S., Paul (Diane), London, Ont., Carolyn, Charlottetown, P.E.I.., Alan (Jeannie), St. John's, and Alison (Edward Turpin), St. John's; seven great-grandsons: Michael, Andrew, Jeffrey, Jasper and Anderson Thorne, Taylor and Christian Pye; one great-granddaughter: Janice Thorne; one great-great-grandson: Dustin Thorne, as well as other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Ave. on Friday, April 4th from 7-9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
