MERRITHEW, MARION EDITH "EILEEN"
Eileen Merrithew died peacefully and unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at The Palisades Retirement Home, Ottawa, Ontario. She was born on January 24, 1921, in Fredericton, NB, to the late Harry L. and Edith (Holden) Merrithew.
Eileen enjoyed a long career (1942 – 1977) at the Head Office of Unemployment Insurance. She was also a Pythian Sister and loved to volunteer at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa.
She was an only child, but will be missed by her extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery Extension. For those who wish, they can meet at McAdam’s Funeral Home on May 18, 2016 at 3:00 pm to follow her to the cemetery with the service being held at 3:30 pm.
Memorial tributes in Eileen’s honor may be made to the Salvation Army or the SPCA.
