LeBLANC, Leonice Marie – age 99, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2016 at home. Born November 19, 1916 in Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Nathan and Caroline Cottreau. Leonice worked for the Sisters (Filles de Jésus) in Wedgeport for a number of years, having also worked as a housekeeper for Don Raymond. She also enjoyed playing cards. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving is her son, Clifford LeBlanc, Wedgeport. In the last few years, she also became very close to her caregivers, Beverlee, Ann and Monica. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Zacharie LeBlanc, as well as by a brother, Alfred Cottreau and a sister, Roseanne Cottreau. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A graveside memorial service and interment was held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 27 at Saint Michael’s Parish Cemetery, Wedgeport, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated.
