Passed peacefully away on Saturday May 28, 2016, with her son Gilbert and daughter Karen at her side, Emma Miller Reid (Hellyer) of Mount Pearl, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her parents, William and Sarah Belle (Miller) Hellyer; her husband, Gilbert; sister, Clara (Aubrey Reid); brothers, George Hillier (Grace), Eric Hellyer, and Victor Hillier (Jessie); sister-in-law, Ethel (Gerald Ryan); and brother-in-law Cecil Reid (Margaret). Leaving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Heather (Kevin Mawhinney) and Karen (Michael McCormack), and son, Gilbert Reid (Cathy), always daughter-in-law, Jackie; her grandchildren, Nicholas Reid (Heather), Frances Reid and Sarah Mawhinney; her brother Graham Hillier (Margaret) and sister-in-law, Hettie Hellyer. Also leaving to mourn are many special friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family too numerous to list. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 73 Commonwealth Ave. on Monday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm and Tuesday from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Funeral service to take place from First United Church, Mount Pearl, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 am, with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
