It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ronald Joseph Gillis announce his passing at his family residence in Loch Leven, NL on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the age of 74 years. He leaves to mourn with many precious memories his wife of 47 years, Margaret; children: Rhonda (Raymond) Hynes, Carolyn (Peter) Finlay, Jody (David) Harris, Matthew (Pamela) Gillis; grandchildren: Kyle, Shilah, Kieran, Glen, Kailey, Jayce, Layne; siblings: Jim Gillis, Jerry (Bessie) Gillis, Calvin (Isabelle) Gillis, Ted Gillis, Margaret Gillis (Rick); sister-in-law Mary Gillis as well as many nieces, nephews other family and friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Anthony & Anne Gillis (nee: Quilty); brother Dave and sister-in-law Margaret Gillis. Visitation will take place from St. Columcille Parish in St. Fintan's on Wednesday, June 8th from 7 - 9 p.m. from where the Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Highlands. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bay St. George Sick Children's Foundation.
