Swansburg, Jeffrey- 59, of Sable River, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2016 at Queens General Hospital with his loving wife by his side. Jeff was a caring man who always had a kind smile and helping hand to give. He was a carpenter by trade as well as a lobster fisherman. He was an active volunteer within the community when he could. Jeff was a loving and proud father. He could be found at his spot on the bench or sideline cheering with pride. He had a sparkle in his eye and a heart exploding with love for his grandchildren. He supported and encouraged us as much as he could. His biggest joy was spending time with his family and friends, playing a hand of Phase 10, or throwing a horse shoe. He is survived by his mother, Florence (Spidle) Swansburg; his wife of 36 years, Laverne (Cotter) Swansburg; daughters, MaryAnn Swansburg (Lloyd Joudrey); Tina and Jamie Hutton; Nikki Swansburg ( Trevor Pack); brothers, Larry (Joanne) and Rupert and his grandchildren, Aidan and Olivia Swansburg and Audrey Hutton. Visitation was held on Thursday,June 9th from 7-9 pm in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport where the funeral service took place on Friday, June 10 at 2 pm with Rev. Kevin Cox officiating. There was a celebration of Jeff’s life on Saturday, June 11 at 6:00 pm in the music barn at the Lockeport campground and cottages. There will be singing and sharing of memories. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family or charity of choice.
