Lorna Beausejour
Plymouth/Westville - Lorna Beausejour (Hatfield), age 90, formerly of Plymouth and Westville, passed away on Monday May 30, 2016, at The Admiral Long Term Care Center, Dartmouth.
Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, she was the daughter of William and Martha Stanyer.
Lorna was predeceased by her first husband, Melvin (Alec) Hatfield and more recently by her second husband, Millard William Beasejour. She was also predeceased by a son, Brian K. Hatfield.
Lorna operated a small grocery store on Spring Garden Road in Westville for many years. She was also a saleswoman for Avon and Sarah Coventry jewelry. She was a devoted mother and wife who was active in numerous community groups including the Terry Fox Run, The War Brides, and the Westville Heritage Club. She was also a member of St. Paul's United Church, Westville.
She is survived by a son, Melvin (Joanne) Hatfield of Dartmouth and grandchildren Jason Hatfield, Upper Falmouth, and Melanie Mesheau, Dartmouth. She is also survived by stepsons Keith (June) Beausejour, Alma, Kevin (Debbie), Fox Creek, Alta., Scott, Coldbrook, Ross (Elaine), Inverness, and their families.
Cremation has taken place. Her memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Eagles Funeral Home Chapel in Westville with Rev. Doug Pilsworth presiding. Visitation will be held between 10 and 11 prior to the service. Internment will follow in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester.
