GARNETT, MABEL EDNA
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Mabel Edna Garnett which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 5th, 2016.

Born 1938, in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Muriel (Jones) and Bernard Garnett. As a graduate of Saint John Vocational School and Modern Business College, Mabel worked as an Administrative Support Clerk for various governmental organizations. Throughout her life, Mabel was a devoted member of the River Cross Baptist Church but had many friends in both the Protestant and Catholic Faiths. In addition to her love of church and singing in the church choir, Mabel enjoyed living in her home in Bradley Lake with her dogs. She loved to garden in her yard and to crochet & knit for her family and friends.

Mabel is survived by her brother Charles Garnett (Joan) and her nieces and nephews, along with several cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Mabel was predeceased by her brother Donald McAvity.

Mabel’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the SJRH Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion during her final days.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646–2424). A Memorial Service will take place from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Friday, July 8th at 10 a.m. followed by an interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
