George Gordon Kettle
October 25, 1927 – July 14, 2016

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Gordon Kettle announces his passing on Thursday July 14, at Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 88 years. Born in Port aux Basques, Gordon was the son of the late George William and Anges (nee Chaulk) Kettle. He was also predeceased by his father and mother in law Emmanuel C. and Melinda Lomond, grandson Glenn Gordon Pittman, brothers; Wilson, Stan, Nathan and John, sisters; Gladys, Evangeline, Olive and Alice and brothers and sisters in law. He leaves to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories his loving and devoted wife Frances (nee Lomond) of 69 years. A proud father, grandfather and great grandfather he will forever remain in the hearts of his children; Alice (Charles) Pittman Grand Falls - Windsor NL, Wayne (Florence) Kettle Dunville ON, Bonnie (Wolf) Ilmer Grand Prairie AB. Grandchildren; Scott (Deanne) Pittman, Sheri Pittman (Dean), Tara Kettle (Nathan), Karla Kettle (Etienne), Donald Kettle (Caitlyn), Natasha (Marc) Cheater, Crystal Nuttall (Joe), Kody Nuttall, Randy Ilmer (Melissa) and 11 great grandchildren. Sister Viola Roberts Port aux Basques, sisters in law; Jane Kettle Port aux Basques, Rachel Hollett Mahone Bay NS, brother in law Douglas Lomond Port aux Basques, special nephew Roland Kettle (Evelyn) Port aux Basques and a large circle of nieces, nephews and many, many friends. Visitation took place on Sunday July 17, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services took place on Monday July 18, 11 am at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Grand Bay officiated by Rev. Harold Harvey, interment followed at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Gordon can be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or the LeGrow Health Centre Foundation.
