It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Francis McCarthy announce his peaceful passing at Western Memorial Hospital on Saturday July 30, 2016 in his 78th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories his loving wife of 53 years Joyce (nee Farwell); Children: Eddie (Sandy) Ontario, Garry (Sandra) Meadows, Wanda (Ross), Ontario; grandchildren: Amanda (Geoff), Nadine (Josh), James, Ryan, Liam, Nathan and Katie; great grandchildren: Landen, Elessias and Parker (Karlie); brothers: Moe (Bun) St. John's, Albert (Kay) St. John's, Mick (Sharon) St. John's, Doug and John; sisters: Sandra (Doug), Irene (Jim) St. John's, Josephine and Ruth; sister in law: Brenda (Doug) and friends of the BIS Club in St. John's as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Alice and Ned; Brother Paul; sisters: Jean and Kathleen. In keeping with Edwards wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may visit Holy Trinity Church in Meadows on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 2-6 p.m. Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Palmer officiating. Internment will take place at a later date. As expressions of Sympathy donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. The family guest book may be signed by visiting www.country-haven.ca
