Passed peacefully away in St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, in her 86th year, surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifetime resident of St. John's, and was residing at Ruby Manor Retirement Home in Mount Pearl at the time of her passing. Glenis faced her final challenge as she lived her life - with dignity and a quiet determination. She was predeceased by her husband, Malcolm (Mac); parents Gordon and Ethel Rose; sisters Margaret, Phyllis Hodder, Helen, Elizabeth Power, Florence Penn, and Dallas Evans; brothers Ralph and David. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are: daughter, Peggy (Reg Bruce) of Dartmouth NS, son, Blair of St. John's, granddaughters Sarah Tumpler of Dartmouth NS and Susanne Gagnon (Daniel) of Kenora ON; great grandsons, Mitchel and Nathan Gagnon of Kenora ON; special nieces Valerie Hodder (Douglas Hines) and Carol Johnston (Robert) both of St. John's; cousin Anne Smith of Corner Brook, sister-in-law, Drexel Rose of St. John's, and friend Ethel Tucker at Ruby Manor. Glenis will also be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbours in Newfoundland, Ontario and the United States. Visitation to take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., on Sunday, August 28th, from 2p.m. - 4p.m. and 7p.m. - 9p.m. A grave side service will be held at the Field Of Honour, Mount Pleasant Cemetery at 2PM on Monday, August 29th, 2016.
