We, the family of Darrell Flynn, wish to express our heartfelt and sincere appreciation to all of our family, friends, neighbors and colleagues for all of their sympathy and support during our recent loss.
We will forever remember the generosity and kindness of those who provided food, flowers, sent Mass cards and made generous donations to the various charities and societies which were all dear to Darrell’s heart. To those who travelled to be with us at this difficult time, we are immensely grateful for your presence. To the doctors and staff at the Glace Bay Hospital and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, particularly the Intensive Care Unit, whose efforts and support during Darrell’s illness helped us through this stressful time, we will always remember and be thankful for your diligence. To the staff of Swiss Chalet, Bill Allen and the Fresh Casual Restaurant team, our second family, we send to you our love and appreciation for all of your concern and constant support. To McGillivray’s Funeral Home, whose assistance and compassion helped to guide our family through this painful time, we thank you. We would like to thank Father MacPhee and St. Anne Church, the readers, musicians, pallbearers and honour guard, all of whom so graciously participated in Darrell’s service, which was incredibly beautiful. We would like to offer a special mention to Mayor Cecil Clark and his office for their support. Words cannot express our sincere gratitude for your assistance and constant presence before, during and after Darrell’s passing. The Flynn Family is overwhelmed by the show of support and compassion form the community; it was a true testament to the life of Darrell Flynn and we will forever remember the empathy and respect shown in his memory.
