Passed peacefully away at Saint Luke's Homes on September 10, 2016, Mae D. McKay, aged 98 years. Predeceased by her husband Douglas in 2007. Left to celebrate her life are her sons: David (Gillian Butler) and Robert (Eileen Picco), special niece and nephew: Marion Pike (Derek, deceased) and John Burry, grandchildren: Heather (Brad Cheater), Ian, Scott, Hayley, Jayne and Jennifer (Art Farr), great-grandchild Isabella, sister-in-law Roberta Pomeroy, seven other caring and supportive Pomeroy and McKay family nieces: Beth, Lorna, Phyllis, Celeste, Dorrie, Kath and Liz, other relatives and family friends. Cremation has taken place and a private family service at Barrett's Chapel with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mae's memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Foundation or the Newfoundland and Labrador Branch of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
