Dorothy M Hogg, age 91, passed away at the Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche, on September 15, 2016.
Born in Pictou, she was the daughter of the late William and Violet MacDonald.
Having spent her early life in Glengarry and Pictou, in 1951 she married James Hogg of Lyon’s Brook, where they spent the next 62 wonderful years together on their farm until his death in 2013. Dorothy was a member of West River Presbyterian Church, Durham, where she was active in the AMS, Ladies Guild, and choir. She was also a member of the AMS (MacGregor) of Lyon’s Brook.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving family, son, John (Donna), Edmonton; daughters, June (Ron) MacCarthy, Caribou Island; and Ann Stulac (Elmer Fleming), Lyon's Brook; four granddaughters, Kimberly, Krista, Kelli-Anne, and Jamie; three step-grandchildren, Diane, Tom, and Gordie; great-granddaughter, Peyton, and nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her husband, Jim; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Earl MacLean; sister, June Eloise, in infancy; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harry and Donalda Hogg; and son-in-law, Ivan Stulac.
Visitation will be held 2-4, 6-8 pm, Monday, September 19, at McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 pm at the West River Presbyterian Church, Durham, with Rev. Mary Anne Grant officiating, burial in Durham Cemetery.
The family will be forever grateful to the staff at Willow Lodge for the incredible joy and care given to Mom when she made it her home for her last two years.
