Wayne Blynn
Blynn, Wayne Douglas: It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Wayne Douglas Blynn, age 70, of Labelle, N.S., formerly of Wood’s Harbour. Wayne passed peacefully, surrounded by family, in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool on September 17, 2016. Born April 11, 1946 in a snowstorm in Paradise, N.S. to Frances Marie Gillis Blynn and the late Carl Loren Blynn. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Blynn of 45 years; daughter, Joanne (Anne) Currie; son in law, Douglas Currie; granddaughters Brett and Robyn Currie, and his sisters, Wendy MacDonald and Cheryl Blynn. Wayne was a loving husband, caring father and very proud grandfather. He was a lifetime scholar. He attended U.N.B., N.S. Teachers Collage, Acadia and finally finding his calling as a teacher, following in his mother’s footsteps. Many students from Yarmouth, Greenwood and finally Wood’s Harbour may remember him for his tutelage. He was an avid reader, lover of music, collector. Wayne was content to while away his retirement years in Labelle, surrounded by friends, following the accomplishments of his granddaughters. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m., Monday, September 19 at the H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. Funeral service was held 2 p.m., Tuesday from the H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, Pastor Phil Williams officiating. Graveside Committal service followed at the Greenwood Cemetery, Wood’s Harbour. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Queens County Hospital Auxiliary.
