Leanus Mitchelmore passed away at home at the age of 74. He was born in Green Island Cove. Leanus will be lovingly remembered by his sisters and brothers: Eliza (Baxter), Dulcie (Tom), Glorina (Eddie), Sophie, Whyman (Gaye), Sheila (Wayde), Belinda (Rex), Sharon and Glen (Maureen); and his numerous nieces and nephews. Leanus was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Amy Elizabeth, sisters Sarah Jane and Annie, brother Baxter, nephew Junior and brother-in-law Eric. Funeral services were held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Lower Cove at 2:00 pm on October 15, 2016 followed by the burial in the church cemetery at Green Island Cove. The family would like to thank Reverend Omar for the lovely service and the funeral directors at Kerry M. Fillatre Funeral Home for their compassion and care in preparing our brother for his heavenly home. We express our sincere appreciation to the grave diggers; Roland MacLean and his team. We thank Eileen Mitchelmore and Sabrina Cotton for preparing the pamphlets and the choir for the music and hymns in celebrating the life of Leanus. We thank the people who send messages and flowers; those who provided the food and anyone else we may have missed.
