Peacefully at Whisperwood Villa on Saturday, October 29, 2016 of Ida Melvina Ostridge (nee Handrahan) formerly of Pisquid in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late John J. (Jack) Ostridge and dear mother of Brendon (Georgie), Margaret (Bert, deceased) Dunphy, Charles (Debbie), Melvin (Ellen), Louis (Betty), Theresa Valadka, Elaine (Wayne) Murphy, Lawrence (Diane), Carl (Sylvia), Anne (Jimmy) MacLeod, Brady (Valerie) and David (Danita). Ida will also be lovingly remembered by her 29 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, sisters Leona Doran and Alicia Woodburn. Beside her husband Jack, she was predeceased by her brother Chester Handrahan and sisters Genevieve McIsaac, Mary St. John, Evelyn Manning and Zita MacAree. Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Wednesday morning, then transferred to St. Andrew’s Church, Mt. Stewart for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Ida may be made to St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery Fund.
