Veronica Margaret (Seffern) "Ronnie" Boylan
Boylan, Veronica Margaret (Seffern) “Ronnie” – Truro
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mom, Grammie, GiGi on Sunday, October 30, 2016. Born in Seffernville, Lunenburg Co., she was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph Howe and Wilhemina (Publicover) Seffern. She will be greatly missed by daughter Colleen (Greg) Glasgow; son, Ronald (Debbie), Victoria B.C.; daughter Louise Kay, Calgary, Alta.; four grandchildren, Neala (Ken) Braedley, James (Stefanie) Glasgow, Julia Kay (Adam Robins), Nathan Boylan; four great grandchildren, Tate Marie, Joseph, Nicolas Braedley, Harrison Glasgow as well as sister, Evangeline (Eve), Florida and many nieces and nephews. Mom loved music and was involved for many years with the Mel-o-Dees, noted for her Dame Edna costume and later with The Happy Harmonies. She was an avid curler and fan and at one time was the President of the Business Women's Curling Association. She loved to watch the Canadian Teams curl on Sunday afternoons. Mom was a wonderful cook and baker. Many were the recipients of her Christmas shortbreads and other goodies. Mom loved the ocean and loved to travel. She had enjoyed going on cruises with her friend Emma and her last big trip was to Ireland with her daughter Colleen. Mom was on the Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting items for the Gift Shop. She gave many homemade towels, dishcloths and other items as gifts to family and friends. She made quilts for her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter before she became too ill to continue. Mom was a kind, warm, friendly person who listened with an attentive ear and tried to help all that she could. She liked to make sure things were done right. Presentation; whether it be food, posters, singing, costumes or displays were always very important to her. She was predeceased by her husband William “Bill” Boylan; sisters, Josephine Morley, Rita Seffern, Madeline Abriel, Ellen Hull, Catherine in infancy; brothers Blair, Sperry, Francis Seffern and Peter in infancy. Mom’s favourite colours were blue and pink. We invite you to remember her by wearing one of these colours at the funeral. The family would like to thank Fraser’s Pharmacy, Bible Hill for all of your wonderful care and concern for Mom.
