Died peacefully at home on November 2, 2016 at the age of 88 years, in the company of her devoted son Peter and daughter Nancy. She was predeceased by her husband Edmund Ralph (1979); as well as five brothers Gerald, Harold, Gordon, Byron, and Royden Ryan and three sisters Louise Good, Marguerite Murray, and Gwen Brown, all originally from Fredericton, New Brunswick. Barbara was grateful for the ongoing companionship and comfort she and her family received from her nephew Reid Good of Halifax and a circle of cherished friends, especially Janice Brien; the Montgomery and Quinton families; and the ladies of the St. Augustine's Craft Group and ACW, with whom Barbara shared much joy and friendship in her final years. Barbara remembered her long-time bridge partners and her friends "from the early years" with fondness; she appreciated the assistance and concern of her health-care providers and clergy. The family is deeply grateful to Yvette Reid, RN, and Dr. Colleen Kirby, for their support and kindness at the time of Barbara's passing. At Barbara's request, there was no visitation and a private service was held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church in St. John's on November 4, 2016, with inurnment at the Anglican Cemetery on Kenmount Road.
