TRICIA BOUTILIER
(nee Perritt)
May 20, 1971 ~ October 19, 2016
It is with inestimable sorrow we announce the sudden passing of Tricia Boutilier, née Perritt, on October 19 at 45 years old. She is survived by her parents Tim and Marilyn, sister Michelle, niece Bailey, husband Kris, and whippet Hans.
Born in Edmonton and after living variously in Surrey, Japan, and Whistler, in 1997 Trish moved to Gibsons to establish Panagopoulus Pizza. Over the next 17 years, she and her team delivered an incalculable number of pizzas to customers and students from Port Mellon to Roberts Creek. A frequent highlight of her week was providing Junior Chef tours and birthday parties for young children, some of whom eventually went on to become employees. She was proud so many young people had their first jobs with her, and many became close personal friends over time.
Beginning 2007, and for the next three years, Trish studied to qualify as a Registered Massage Therapist and started a fledgling practice while also continuing to own and work at Panago. 2014 saw her give the store over to new owners and transition to full-time work as an RMT, subsequently bringing comfort and relief from pain to hundreds of patients.
Trish and Kris were married in August 2012, after a whirlwind 11-year courtship. She often described the occasion as the highlight of her life thus far.
Trish greatly enjoyed bicycling and could often be seen out and about, seemingly regardless of weather. Her most recent grand adventure was an attempt, in early September, to ride solo and unsupported from Roberts Creek to Kananaskis, AB.
She was riding her bike locally when she was suddenly struck ill and we are forever grateful to those who came to her aid; passers-by, BC Ambulance Service, and the Sechelt Hospital Emergency Department team.
Celebrations of life will be held Saturday November 12, 2pm-4pm at Gibsons and Area Community Centre on the Sunshine Coast, and Sunday November 13, 2pm-4pm at the Sunrise Banquet and Conference Centre, 5640 – 188 Street, Surrey.
In lieu of flowers, please give of yourself to others – register as an organ donor, donate blood, do something selfless, or preferably: all of the above.
