Passed peacefully away surrounded by his family on November 8, 2016, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father John Leonard; mother Mary Woods and her husband Michael Woods; brothers William Woods and Robert (Shirley) Woods. Leaving to mourn his brother Jack Leonard (Adele); sister Helen Reid (Gordon); sister-in-law Helena Woods; nieces and nephews Michelle Leonard, Roger Reid (Joanne), Colleen Reid, Paul, Michael, Billy, Stephen, Bernadette and Cynthia Woods; special great-nephew Tyler Reid and special cousin Helen Mitchell; as well as many other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. A special thanks to Dr. Lisa Barnes and the Staff at the P.C.U., Miller Centre for their care and compassion. Philip was a Renowned Baseball Player and is a member of the Newfoundland Baseball Hall of Fame. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 1-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place from St. Teresa's Parish, Mundy Pond Road on Friday November 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Philip's memory to the St. Vincent de Paul at St. Teresa's or a charity of one's choice.
