It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family announce the peaceful passing of Kay Green, 65, on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney on September 18, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Stella (Hynes) King.
Over the years Kay worked several jobs, but none as important to her as raising her children. She was an active member/secretary of the Bras d’Or Senior’s and Pensioners Club, as well as a dedicated member of Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines. She was a beautiful knitter, crafter and quilter who enjoyed her weekly ‘hen party’. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Ernie; children, Calvin (Robin) Green and Nancy (Pat) Langlois; grandchildren, Jessica, Kevin, Jack, Haeley and Kelsey and great-grandson, Ben. Also surviving are her sister, Sharon Bailey; her brother, Kevin (Debbie); lifelong friends, Mary and Reg Marsh, Brenda and Alex MacPhee and many other friends and family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Linda; brother, Kenny; sister-in-law, Asta (King); mother and father-in-law, Joseph and Mary Green and brothers-in-law, Clarence Green and Vince Bailey. Thank you to Dr. Bill MacDonald, the nursing staff of 4 West, and the Palliative Care Team for the compassionate care given to Kay and her family. Visitation for Kay Green will be held today (Thursday), November 10, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines. A celebration of her life will take place Friday, at 2 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, Sydney Mines, with Rev. Stacey LeMoine officiating. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
