Entered into her eternal rest in the presence of her family on Friday, November 11, 2016, Rita Pearl Strowbridge, in her 97th year. Leaving to celebrate her wonderful life are her loving sons Charlie (Clara) and Jim (Edie), as well as seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, special niece Phyllis Masters, and a circle of extended family and friends. Rita is predeceased by her husband Tom, parents John and Annie, brothers Tom, Charles, Isaac, Jack, Don, and Eric Monk, and sisters Laura and Hattie Maye. A special thanks to the staff of the Blue Crest Interfaith Home in Grand Bank, NL, for providing care in her final days. Visitation will take place at the Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South, on Saturday, November 12, from 2-4 pm (family), and 7-9 pm (public) and on Sunday, November 13, from 2-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Salvation Army Faith and Hope Corps, Creston South, on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 1 pm, with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery. No flowers at the request of the family. Donations in Rita's memory may be made to the Salvation Army Faith and Hope Corps, Creston South.
