It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ralph Cyril Read announce his passing on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 89 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 69 years Shirley (nee Arnold); son Ralph S. Read (Mary); daughters: Ann E. Read (John Bell) and Beverley F. Hulan (Brian); grandchildren: Bryan, Andrew, Karen, Roger, Julia and Fraser; great-grandchildren: Fox, Ella, Kathleen and Anna; sisters: Vera Earle and Hilda Read; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth Ella Hollett, father Gordon Squires Read, sisters Beulah Coish and Sylvia Beck, brothers Aubrey Read and Charles Read. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Thursday from the hours 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. from Fillatre's Funeral Chapel, St. Mark's Avenue with The Very Rev. Baxter Park officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Evangelist Memorial Fund, Main Street, Corner Brook.
