RONALD HUGH BREADNER

RONALD HUGH BREADNER

January 17, 1944 - October 29, 2016
Ron passed away peacefully at Totem Lodge with his wife Carolyne and best friends Owen and Nadine, and Reg and Lynne, at his side. He leaves behind his wife Carolyne, brother Jim, sister Virginia, many nieces and nephews, and so many friends.
Moving to the Coast in 1974, Ron first taught at Pender Harbour Secondary School and soon established a wide range of friends with his involvement in after school and community activities. He loved people and continued in the education field as a District Counsellor, elementary and alternative school teacher, established a Coast counselling and meditation service while teaching an Anger Management course for the Justice Department.
Ron loved the Sunshine Coast lifestyle of boating, hiking and camping and enjoyed teaching younger people outdoor skills. He established a network of trails in his own neighbourhood, complete with his own signs.
For the past 17 years his newest passion became singing and playing the guitar, especial with the "Guitar Gang".
A sincere thank you to the staff at Totem Lodge and the friends and family members who continued to visit him through his struggle with ALS and Dementia.
A private service will be held in the spring of 2017.
To honour Ron's memory, think of him while enjoying one or more of his passions of life.
