John Clyde Briand
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of John Clyde Briand at age 71. Formerly of Baddeck NS, Clyde passed away November 17, 2016 in Hartland NB where he resided. Born in Smelt Brook, NS, he was the son of the late Harry and Helen (Fitzgerald) Briand. During his years in Baddeck, he operated a garage in Big Harbour with his wife Fern. He also worked at Dept. of Natural Resources for many years. Clyde is survived by his three sons, Lawrence (Megan), Travais, Barry (Carla); special friend, Debra Briand; his two brothers, Clarence and Harvey Briand and four sisters, Jeannie (Allison) Harrington, Marion Briand, Alice Harrington, Martha (Greg) Piercy; five grandchildren, Kayla, Catherine, Brydon, Sophia and Luke; several nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles and in-laws. Clyde was predeceased by his wife, Fern and sister, Barbara Morley. Cremation has taken place, visitation will be at Knox Presbyterian Church Baddeck NS, 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., Tuesday November 22nd, 2016, followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter/St John cemetery, Baddeck NS. Family flowers only by request, donations may be made to charity of one’s choice.
