Paul Smith

Date de naissance : 11 avril 1955

Date de décès : 25 novembre 2016

SMITH, Paul Aldon – 61, (April 11, 1955-November 25, 2016) passed away suddenly at home where he was most comfortable. Paul was on the road to recovery after his recent battle with health issues so losing him unexpectedly has been a very devastating shock to his family and the community.
Paul was both a devoted family and community man. He took pride in his children and grandchildren and told everyone he came in contact with how proud he was of them. Paul worked for Wilson’s Shopping Center for 30 years; throughout those years he made many contacts, formed many relationships and gained the respect of all those who came in contact with him. Upon his retirement, he was able to spend precious time with his granddaughters and family and was so happy to have visited Morty, Krista and Kassidiee in Lloydminster during the summer of 2015. Paul enjoyed NASCAR racing, golf, a good western movie, a big family meal, barbecuing and of course having a few cold beer out in the barn with his neighbor Bill. Papa would always tell his grandkids “see ya in the movies” before he left each time which left them in anticipation of his next visit. Through all of his sickness Paul remained humble and did not want to burden anyone. When asked how he was feeling, his answer was most usually “finest kind”. He was the rock of our family and will be missed each and every day. Paul is survived by his wife Sherry Smith (Garron), his son Morty Smith (Krista); daughters Stacy Thorburn (Jamie) and Samantha Nickerson (Rob), and precious granddaughters Kassidiee Smith, Ella Nickerson and Ava Nickerson. Mother-Marie Smith, Sister- Priscilla Landry (Irvin), Brothers- Lovitte Blades (Prue), Phillip Smith (Brenda), Artie Smith (Lee), Mother in law- Vera Garron, Sister in law - Jerry Atwood (Steven), Brother in law – Kinsley Garron (Norma). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and former co-workers. Paul was pre-deceased by his Dad, Aldon Smith, his father in law Morton Garron and his grandparents Angus and Jennie Blades. There was a visitation held Tuesday, from 7-9 pm, in the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service was held, Wednesday November 30, at 2 pm, in the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Richard McAdams officiating. Interment followed in the Port Clyde Cemetery. It was requested there be family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital (4East) or VON- Barrington and Shelburne Branch. The family would like to thank the numerous nurses, doctors and VON who cared for Dad throughout his many health issues. Many thanks to the community of Port Clyde and all other surrounding communities in Shelburne County and beyond, first responders and ambulance attendants who were there in our time of need.

I have fought a good fight
I have finished the race
I have kept the faith.
