It is with great sadness that the family of the late Violet Jones announce her passing at her residence in Corner Brook at the age of 72 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her children: Peggy (Leonard), Portland Creek, Denise (Jerry) Payne, Glenburnie, Janet Jones, Corner Brook, John Jones (Jackie), Corner Brook and Melinda (Shawn) Park, Pasadena; grandchildren: Christopher, Tara, Samantha, Matthew, Shane, Natasha, Nicole, Michaela, Taylor, Legend and Shawn; great-grandchildren: Hailey, Jake, Luke, Brett and Rylin; sisters: Delores (Winston), Roxie, Thelma (Donald) and Maude (Roddie); brothers: Abe (Belle) and Selwyne (Betsie); sister-in-law Janet; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eric Jones, 2008, parents Bussy and Sadie Crocker, brother Guy Crocker. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 p.m. with cremation to follow at Humber Valley Crematorium. The funeral service will be hold on Friday, December 9 at 11 a.m. from The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with The Very Rev. Baxter Park officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
